  • $2,000 to New York State University Department of Biology with the Western New York Chapter of Trout Unlimited to study steelhead/rainbow trout in Eastern Lake Erie and the Niagara River Watershed.
  • $2,000 to the Forbes Trail Pennsylvania Chapter of Trout Unlimited for purchase of riprap stone and other materials for Chapter’s stream improvement project on the Upper Loyalhanna Creek in Ligonier, Pennsylvania; a joint project with 429th U.S. Army Reserve Engineering Battalion.
  • $3,600 to the University of Wisconsin Department of Limnology to be used to purchase certain equipment and supplies used in a project to study the homing instincts of salmon in the Great Lakes.
  • $8,000 to the Michigan State University Department of Fisheries and Wildlife to be used in construction of its indoor artificial stream for direct observation of trout and salmon behavior, the first such project to be implemented in the United States.
